Did you know that reading to your child is one of the best things you can do to give them a better future?
It makes sense that it improves their vocabulary, strengthens their writing ability, and adds to their general knowledge base. Reading also helps children develop empathy, learn to process their feelings, build stronger relationships, overcome disadvantages, improve concentration and memory, stretch their imagination and creativity, and reduce stress.
One man who knew this was Dr. Russell H. Lyddane, our current featured pioneer of the 20th century. Learn more about the educational example he set for his children by listening to part one of the podcast interview with his son Charlie Lyddane at: https://www.dahlgrenmuseum.org/sound-bytes-of-history and by visiting the exhibit about him Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.
