Writer's picture: Dahlgren Heritage MuseumDahlgren Heritage Museum

A wonderful dinner theatre evening in Dahlgren Virginia as the Dahlgren Heritage Foundation presented "Death Proves Fatal", written by local author, Amy Lilly, and performed by the King George High School drama students. The sell out audience interacted with the actors to solve the "who done it" with both written clues and the oral story, loosely based on actual stories from Dahlgren during the 1930's and '40's,

One of the many special guests of the evening was Mrs. Gladys West who has been recently honored as one of developers of the modern, omnipresent, Global Positioning System (GPS) She was one of the first African American mathematicians to work at the Naval Surface Weapons Lab, and a member of the highly esteemed team of pioneers in research and technical design that has worked at the "The Base",

We held a Silent Auction that included several pieces from local artists, including a water color by noted wildlife and nature artist John Shaw,

The King George High school JROTC students presented the colors and served the audience.
